Why didn’t the Conservatives do all this stuff when there were in Government?

All of those years and now they are acting like if you just give them the chance they’re going to do all of this stuff and change the country?!

You had your chance for many many years and you didn’t do it.

It’s like being in an abusive relationship.

They didn’t dare. I don’t believe they’d dare now either.

Easy to promise the world when you know you’ll never be in a position to do any of it. The Tories are done now, I can’t see them ever coming back.

Because they are liars

I’m also suspicious at the scale of which they increased legal immigration in the last 2-3 years.

It’s like they knew it would be Labour’s problem.

It's very easy to make promises in opposition. Not so easy to deliver.

This applies equally to all parties. However, the Tories are particularly embarrassing themselves by making these promises so soon, given their previous record in office.

Easy to promise anything when you're not in the position to carry it out

Remember the backlog in asylum claims are because they didn't process enough. They wanted the asylum seekers in hotels so they could distract people with that.

When it became clear they wouldn't win the next election, they damaged the country deliberately and salted the earth to make it harder for the incoming party.

Have you not noticed this pattern of lies from practically every party there is.

What is a low level MH condition? If they are on about depression and anxiety then they need to think again. Both can be very severe and disabling.

Because when you’re now the third, even fourth, party in British politics, it’s very easy to offer the Earth. Whatever happens at the next election, the Conservatives aren’t winning it and I can see an entirely plausible scenario in which they become the fourth largest party behind Labour, Lib Dems and Reform.

I think we may have just seen the death of the Conservatives Party as we knew it, rather like the death of the Liberal Party after the end of the First World War.

It's very easy to parade one off great ideas when your the opposition

IF farage were ever to win (I hope not!) he will be the prime minister of everyone. Not just the people who voted for him.

You cant be a single policy party. It's very dull to do all the million other parts to make the country work. And you have to balance the books
