Going away - crap weather!

I’m taking my DS who is a toddler away next week to Majorca and seen the whole week were there it’s raining all day or cloudy. I know it’s the risk in October but the previous years looked nice! I don’t know what to do, I don’t want to be stuck in Spain with thunderstorms/rain but the same time don’t want to waste my money. I will just find it really boring and hard to entertain a toddler if the weather is crap as in our hotel everything is based outside. Anyone know a reliable weather app or goes Alcudia often? I think I might go and if the weather is bad get early flight home, wish I just booked canaries now!

I don't ever remember my parents getting in a knot about the weather on holiday. We went and were all happy to be away and to deal with whatever weather came our way. Sure, of course it's easier if it's dry and sunny but the most important thing is spending time with your child and have him see his mum happy and smiling and being positive and getting out there, not stuck in a hotel room being miserable. Take wet weather clothes and go swimming in the pool in the rain!

Are you staying at a hotel? Is there an indoor pool? You can still go to the beach in cloudy weather, we do it in the uk all the time!

When I’ve looked it said thunderstorms few of days and raining most of other days. I’m scared of thunderstorms so won’t leave hotel, I went Thailand this year and the weather was pretty bad so I’m going off that I will be bored but we will see!

If you're going w/c 12/10, only the Wednesday & Friday are expected to have 4-5hrs rain (click on the weather symbols, gives a breakdown)

OP I'm staying near Alcudia as we speak.

Yesterday was glorious but today is very overcast and chilly but the rest of the week the forecast is pretty good.

Having spent many October's out here the weather is quite erratic and it can be very warm one minute, pouring with rain the next.

I'd advise packing lots of layers and squeezing some games into your case!

I go the 8th October for a week!

Also the Spanish met office website is far more accurate weather-wise than others.
