What is happening with Facebook??

I like scrolling reels and random stuff, but now my reel feed is showing tonnes of what I can only imagine are Onlyfans-type videos or lives.

i know the algorithm shows more of what you watch, but I’m a mid 50s woman and laughing dogs and yawning newborns are my usual go-tos.

i mark them as ‘not interested in this’ occasionally - is this interaction where I’ve gone wrong?

and FFS Facebook - is this really what it’s come to? 😡😡😡

anyone know any settings or ways to stop it?

I've found with insta and Threads that if you actually search for a couple of phrases, eg "Yawing new borns" , "cute dogs" it resets the alogorithim quite quickly. However the alogorithim seems to act like an addict - one quick click onto an influencer and it's fully back on what it wants you to see.

Basically you have to work a bit to keep seeing what you want to see

Mine is literally all ads and people I don't even know or are friends with.

While I understand ads do pay to be on FB it's nothing like it used to be, I can be scrolling through for a while until I come across a group or friends page that's of my choosing.

I don’t see any updates from my friends. Lots of ads and reels sometimes random old post from the group I’m a member of.
Hardly bother nowadays. All my friends know how to contact me/where to find me

@Anonomoso- you’re right - I hadn’t even realised but I rarely see any posts from friends automatically these days..

Mine is all groups and people I don't follow.

I've heard Meta are announcing a new no ad subscription model so I think they're trying to make it as annoying as possible so more people pay for it.
