my mother is 80 on a pension, moaning she can't afford xmas gifts for all the 25 grandkids and great grandkids and parents of them...so i said i would buy for all of them..(including her 2 best friends and their 2 adult children )..i also have to buy for them and my family...its cost me a bloody fortune and not one word of gratitude from her....aibu to want at least a thank you ?

thank you but no...she's selfish..i couldnt sit back and think her grandbabies would get nothing from her so i stepped up...loving the bitchy comments from the other posters thou (not you x)..

I get where you’re coming from , my mum is 81 and gratitude seems to have left her . I wouldn’t be buying 35 presents but I did pay thousands to have a new boiler in her house , can’t have an old woman freezing and no hot water . Did I get a thanks no I did not , just an acknowledgment that I have more money than her 😂

In January set up a little monthly payment plan affordable for mum do when xmas comes around she'll have money already put away,

And yes she should of been abit more greatful, as your protecting her pride in front of the family,
