Citreon air bag debacle

Forgive me if this doesn’t make sense , I’m dyslexic
ok so my Citreon car was called in & I was told not to drive my car as it was dangerous because of faulty airbags
I had to wait 3 months to get it seen to, Citreon messed up the collection & sent a tow truck on Thursday & another on Friday , no communication between the 2 parties
so now car is fixed but I can’t get it back from the repair shop as the car is on sorn
in the meantime instead of hiring a car which was going to be expensive I opted to use my savings to buy a used one,
I was told by Citreon to apply for the £22 per day recompense, but as I had bought a car they are now saying they can’t give me money for car,( BUT I never requested that) just some money for the total inconvenience,

the whole thing is making me so stressed
has anyone else had trouble with Citreon ??

Am I missing something? Why can’t you just sell the used car and get your car back?

You can take a car off SORN online, immediately to enable you to collect the car.

You buying a car makes no difference to any claim, just claim the daily money, dont make any mention of the new car. Unconnected.

Yes I can but I have to also put insurance & road tax back on then find someone to drive me to North Wales to pick it up x

I don’t want that car anymore I don’t trust it now,
I’m happy with the one I have now ,
I need to sell it to go towards what I paid for this other car ,

Because I didn’t use any transport during that time they won’t help , I tried to tell them that getting public transport to my appointments was out of the question as there are no straightforward routes, it would take 2 buses & over an hours journey to do a 10 min drive,
had to re arrange dates x

That's hardly Citroen's fault though. Surely you can ask the dealer to rearrange delivery? Or put a month's road tax on it and use a company like Cuvva to insure it for the few hours you need to drive it.

Three months to sort that out? What is going on with them?

You know there's a recall about faulty brakes on some models as well.

I’ve been through everything, the place where the car was fixed will not deliver the car ,for free I will have to find my own towing company ,Citreon were fully aware that I could not collect it , I could do as you say, but I need to get to N wales, a taxi would cost over £30 which I don’t have ,
I live alone & have no one to drive me there
Citreon were fully aware of my predicament from the beginning but they have given me so many different answers I’m getting stressed

You seem to be hoping Citroen will sort out your lack of money and transport but it’s really not their responsibility.

If you really can’t afford to get your car back then I’m not really sure what advice you want people to give you.

It’s been a nightmare for hundreds of people & they are making us jump through hoops to get any recompense
one minute I get yes you can get this money, then I speak to someone else & they have no idea what I’m talking about , it’s a terrible lack of communication
I was told this by the 2nd towing company who turned up to get my car , but another company had been & taken it the day before , such a waste of time & money plus a couple of the call handlers have been extremely rude

Then you need to follow the official complaints process if you think the situation has been handled badly. Citroen aren’t going to pay to get you your car back.

Sorry to hear that. Mine was done same day in about 30 minutes. Complain .

Mine was a 45 minute fix. I drove it down, they sorted it, I drove it back. Not sure why they went to the trouble of collecting it from you at all.

I’m still waiting for mine to be repaired!!!

FYI they have assumed responsibility , it’s their fault that they installed faulty airbags, I was told by Citreon not to drive the car as it was deemed unsafe,
I had to wait 3 months for a date to be available to get the car repaired
Citreon have not been very forthcoming with advice, I’m not keep on driving the car now in any case I’m going to sell it
