To feel a bit upset about this?

I had my eyebrows tinted and waxed and was asked if I was happy for photos to be taken for a ‘before and after’ post on instagram. I was happy for the photos to be taken so agreed. Brows turned out great and I’m really pleased with them but when the photos were posted online I was disappointed to see that the beauty therapist had put a filter on me which covered any texture/blemishes in my skin. I wouldn’t say my skin is perfect but it’s not ‘bad’. It’s made me feel a bit rubbish about myself. AIBU to feel this way or is adding filters to clients a normal thing? (Light hearted thread - I’m not going to lose any sleep over this! Just interested to hear others thoughts.

From my own experience it's quite a common thing for beauty therapists to add filters to the photographs they share of clients online. Not because their clients don't fit their aesthetic but rather they have a set 'look" to their posts. I guess some may say they will edit the photos in advance but they probably do it automatically without thinking.

The photos were for advertising her tinting/waxing services, not for showing off you and your ski ! It’s not about you, basically.

This makes sense as all of the posts have the same format. Maybe they all have filters on but I’ve just noticed mine because it’s me and I could tell straight away that she has ‘blurred’ my skin.

Yes, know that. I didn’t have a skin service - just my eyebrows (and they weren’t altered with filters in anyway).
