I know you've got to make a living, but the language in the promoted post below is unethical.

The clear implication is that 'Mumsnet-the-site' - which draws all its authority from us, your users, the Mumsnet 'hivemind' - believes that all young children NEED Equazen.

The only question is which age that it should be given.

I'm quite shocked by this. I've worked in a similar area so I know the score and I'm a commercial realist.

I don't think the ASA will be thrilled.

It looks like the screenshot I uploaded hasn't been cleared by mods, but the promoted thread title I'm talking about reads 'When should I start giving my child Equazen®?'

If you look at Active Discussions, it’s near the top- topic is ‘promoted by Mumsnet’ and the thread title is 'When should I start giving my child Equazen®?'

If that were the case it would say when should I give..?

but even if you’re right, it would still imply that in a given situation the best or only action for a parent is to give this commercial ‘health’ product to their child. The question is when, not if.

There was one a while ago about the excitement of taking the monorail to MK and I honestly thought it meant Milton Keynes so ended up tapping on the link to see what it was about 🤣 ah, Magic Kingdom… makes more sense.

Mumsnet promote all kinds of crap, its getting really tedious. Half the posts seem to be 'promoted by munsnet' at the moment. Luckily there's some warming, because dear mumsnet, I treat them like any other advert; sigh and swerve.

The answer to that question is never. A quick google and a tiny bit of knowledge about fish oil, EPA and DHA would show you that these are absolutely eye-wateringly expensive for a fairly crappy dose.

I buy a better dose of EPA and DHA for quite literally a fraction of the cost of these. About a tenth of the cost to be exact!

The one where they kept trying to explain how lifting quotes and applying them to products they didn't relate to but which MN were being paid to promote wasn't in fact misleading and posters just didn't understand how it all worked.

@thestudio, MNHQ might not notice this thread in AIBU - the best way to make sure they see it is to report it.

Nope it’s not new. They have advertised pedishakes and ashton teething powders implying they provided pain relief.
