It’s driving me mad!

I’m in a new relationship and I’ve had a sort through my phone. Deleting all old contacts etc. I have deleted their numbers but on WhatsApp, in the status list where you can pick who sees your status, all of those numbers are there.

I went on a lot of dates and it makes me look like I’m saving them on my phone and I just don’t want their numbers/contact details on my WhatsApp!! It’s driving me insane that a whole list of numbers pops up!!!! Why when the internet is full of useless info is there not clear directions on how to stop this. Any tech nerds know how I can sort this please ??

Why? It’s for me. I don’t want to see old faces pop up on my phone. Plus, it’s making me look like I still want their contact details and I don’t!

I don’t get where they’re showing up? If you’ve deleted their numbers and any conversations on WhatsApp where are the numbers showing?

I thought so too. I wanted to share something. But just with a few friends. So I went into privacy — status — my contacts except — then it brings up nearly everyone I’ve ever known!!

Does it really matter if numbers you’ve previously whatsapped appear in this one particular convoluted search area?

I don’t think this is disrespectful to your relationship nor something you’ll ever even see unless you follow these very specific steps…

Have you tried uninstalling then reinstalling WhatsApp? I don't know if it will work, but certainly worth a try if this issue is really bothering you. NB: I also don't know if it will delete any of your messages, so might be worth a google before you go ahead.
