Caught him in a small lie - discard?

So super low stakes but I don't know if I'm making a mountain out of a molehill.

been talking to a guy from OLD for a couple weeks, not met up yet but have messaged alot and had a few phone calls (not video calls)

he sent me a selfie earlier of him at the gym....except he already sent me the same selfie a few days ago.

I asked is that from today, and he said yes. But it can't be!

it's really stupid thing to lie about, I hadn't asked for a picture, but it's just the needless lying. Why say it was from today when it wasn't? Just seems so bizarre?

shall I just discard? It's such early days I think that may be the way to go

I hate when guys send unsolicited selfies. Why? Life is busy, fun, stressful, chaotic - do you really have nothing better to do than take photos of yourself, browse them, choose one that you think is casual/ candid enough that it seems like you didn't take loads, and then send them out to your various contacts, and await approval and compliments? Really??

Um, if someone hands you a photograph of someone and then hands you the exact same photograph again, you can tell it’s the same by looking at them. Really not all that challenging.

Is it possible he sent the original picture from the future?

Ha yeah he is sending same pics and messages on repeat to loads of women. Being honest he probably took that pic about 7 years ago at the gym too and uses it as a 'lure'.
