To think Instagram has become extra evil recently

Lighthearted? No I think they're evil.

Anyway, first they start trying to make you have the app. I resist for ages then, in a moment of weakness, download it.

Then, they refuse to let you have a harmless anonymous account for following cat accounts and say it will be suspended unless you upload a video of your face??

Er, no mate. I mean I know it's probably watching my face right now through my phone but why make me actively engage with this?

I wouldn't mind except Instagram is where so much information is stored now ("to see our menu check out Instagram!") and it's getting annoying.

I will never give in though not this time.

I don't have my face on there and have not had an issue ( so far). Weird.

Haven't been prompted to do this yet. I have found it evil recently as it's suggesting things that are quite upsetting, like women recounting being harassed or mistreated. I suppose connected to my interests in that they seem to be from a feminist perspective but I use Instagram to relax and look at videos of people making cakes etc so I find it very jarring.

Jsutclick on all cats and dogs vids. When my algorithm goes awry, I manage to get it back on track that way.

I don’t have a pic on there. I quite like instagram. It’s much better than TikTok which is where all the absolute loons and morons seem to hang out.

I sometimes deactivate my main account for extended periods of time just because I can’t be bothered with it all. I tried to make a finsta the last time it was deactivated because so many small businesses near me are only really active on there, but Instagram kept suggesting me as a connection to people I knew anyway so it was pointless 😫
