Do you think this is shady?

I was with exH for 15 years, for around 10 of those he worked for the same company.
I bumped into one of his ex colleagues the other day and I really only know him as an acquaintance. I’d just say hello to him and his wife when he was with his ex.
Since bumping into me he’s messaged, said him and his wife are divorcing and has asked me out on a date.
should I go or is it a bit shady with him being an old colleague of my ex?

Is he actually single or just looking for a no strings hook up?

@333FionaG pretty sure he’s single, either just divorced or at least going through the process

I don't see how it's shady - might be a bit eyebrow raising if he was your ex's brother or best friend! But he's just a former work colleague, nothing wrong with that that I can see? Doesn't sound as if they were close and they no longer work together. Go for it if you like him!

Does his wife know he's 'going through a divorce '? I would tread very carefully unless I absolutely knew for certain.

I can’t imagine why either of you would want to go on another date together. Presumably neither of you have been interested before so why now.
