Insect Bite - Health Anxiety

I was away with work Monday night in a hotel, woke up and my leg felt a little itchy thought nothing of it, within the hour I've got these bites up my thigh 😢 I assumed it was bedbugs 😱 but overnight they've grown so much and are so itchy and now started to get really raised. Worrying it's now a spider bite because of the bumps on them, anyone got any clue?! I've been to the doctor this morning and they've prescribed me clarythromicin as I normally always get cellulitis with bites so trying to prevent it 🫠 more just AIBU to go back to make them properly look at the bite for the size of the bumps? 😭

Spider bites hurt rather than itch (have been bitten by a spider a couple of times).

The doctor has treated you so I don’t really know what else they can do...

Try not to worry - unless you have spreading cellulitis, start to feel unwell or have any other odd symptoms you’re almost certainly alright.

I wouldn't bother tbh, no matter what they are, the most important thing is treating infection and possible cellulitis. And you've already got that base covered with the Clarythromicin, which is very effective.

I also get cellulitis frequently (once you've had it once, you're much more prone to it again apparently). I think once the antibiotics kick in any swelling should subside quite quickly. The only caveat being, if you had any anaphylaxis like symptoms, but I'm assuming you're past that window or if they haven't shown any improvement (or got worse) in a couple of days time.

You already have antibiotics, which I’m surprised at as one of my DC regularly get cellulitis and doesn’t get antibiotics until it’s actually infected.

Unless it hot, tracking, shiny, worse or you’re ill and have a temperature there’s nothing to be done. If they’re itchy take some anti histamines.
