They seemed to be the main item there. I remember my mum and nan squeezing a lot of teas out of a pot.
I think coffee took over and they don’t do that anymore.

They don't but if you ever go to a scout hut or church hall you can generally find one on the shelf in the kitchen, so they still exist!

Oh wait you mean the individual ones? I thought you meant the giant ones for serving loads of people. National trust tearooms still use those metal teapots if you get a tea.

They were individual but they must’ve looked big to me.

I had a Saturday job as a teen in an old people's home. I had to pour tea at breakfast to 50 residents from one of those huge metal teapots. How I didn't drop it and scald them I'll never know.

They used to leak like crazy. I remember them in Littlewoods.

And the tea went everywhere but in the cup!

I was gonna say, church halls when I was a kid had them

Unlocked a memory there 😄

I remember these at school. Some unfortunate 6th former had to wield them and probably developed spectacular biceps as a result. Thinking about it, it must have been really quite dangerous, but I don't remember anyone getting hurt.
