Ocado Xmas delivery slots

Getting unreasonably wound up with Ocado over their random policy of releasing slots in waves? My pal has her slot booked and in the bag, meanwhile I’m being advised to ‘keep an eye out’ (because of course I’ve got nothing better to do). I asked how they allocate customers to the first waves and I’m told it’s random. I said it’s guaranteed to piss off a large percentage of their customer base. If they can’t cope with the demand for slots they need to spend more of their vast profits updating their website.

Yeah, I’ve spent a huge amount with them recently and I booked my slot today. Loads were already gone, but I got what I roughly wanted. Some years though I’ve had the dross slots and it does appear to be a bit random.

I’ve booked mine out with champagne, I’ll try and do a rough go at it later.

Their website and app are already bollocksed so I can’t imagine what will happen at Christmas. I don’t even bother with it now because I’ve always had a substitution of some main item at Christmas so it’s not worth the angst.

It’s just so random - like a lottery 🤣. I’ve got 7 adults, one baby and 4 dogs landing on me this year and psychologically it makes me feel so much better once I’ve got that slot booked. If I manage to get one I’ll be drinking a bottle of champagne!

Thanks for the heads up - usually get an email as part of the smart pass but have heard nothing this year - just been on the app and the slots are open!

I'm in West London and mine opened today. I don't get the logic either, but wouldn't have checked if not for this thread, so thanks all!

I got an email yesterday and booked my slot today without any issues

most important thing is I’ve used my £10 voucher. I missed it last year in the email and paid for my slot, not happy!

I only realised after the event it was there
