My 10 month old just turned 10 months born at 37 week.she isnt babbling but making other sounds and when i talk to her she will reply with those sounds at a few months old she would try to communicate in baby talk. She is clapping and very enganged she will respond to her name and give very good eye contanct. Anyone with similar expriences? Did youre LO end up babbling/talking?

Neither of mine babbled, dd2 talked at 2.5 years, dd1 at age 4, whilst dd1 is autistic dd2 is not. Both adults and very verbal!

None of mine babbled. They were all early talkers.

Just focus on talking to her as much as possible. She sounds delightful

My DC3 didn't start babbling consonents until about 10.5 months old, much later than DC1 and DC2. However within about two weeks of doing so he then clearly had his first TWO words which overtook both the other kids who both only had one word by then! Kids all develop differently, please try not to worry.

None of my children and grandchildren babbled. All were early talkers and were speaking in full sentences long before their babbling peers. All developed early advanced vocabulary. Keep talking to your daughter, don't use baby talk and she'll surpise you down the line.

My 10 month old doesn't babble, he also isn't crawling 🤷🏼‍♀️ learned to sit up at 8.5 months.
Both of my kids are a bit slow on milestones but my eldest has turned out fine so it is what it is 😅

It’s important that you talk to her a lot.

Hey @icallshade - did your LO end up babbling? Mine is 10m and isn’t and am worried!

icallshade · 24/02/2026 20:57

@WorriedMama2025 hi, he said 2 words (mama and dada) by 10.5 months and then really took off babbling/trying to talk by 12 months! He's 15 months tomorrow, still not walking, still taking no steps except for the odd cruise on along the sofa!
You know you're baby best so if you're worried contact your HV but unless there are any glaring signs to worry about, it will come! As I mentioned before, both of mine are painfully slow on milestones!
