i have a local friend with kid same age as mine. Said kid is regularly over here for play dates/ dinner/ days out and sleepovers etc. we often invite the family out with us to dinners, celebrations etc. recently the mum has decided to become good friends with another parent (who I introduced her to) and a child who has also been close to my DS. The other parent and kids have been invited over a lot to the local family and also on days out. The local mum has monopolised much of the friend group I introduced her to and has not communicated with us for a few months what should I do?

Not much you can do really

Cautionary tale and all that

Absolutely nothing.

The other mum is allowed to have friends other than you yes?

Are you jealous?

ComberRiver · 18/09/2025 23:53

I would say jealous yes but actually just disappointed and feel like we’ve been taken for a ride. We’ve been generous to a fault and I’m very surprised at where we are now.

The only thing you can do is try arranging your own meetups with the “stolen” friends
include the other mum if you want
