Posting here purely for traffic .

If you live or work in Manchester are you aware of the strike that is going to be ( potentially) taking place 19th - 22nd it is affecting lots of buses but not the trams or trains.
Even if you don't use buses bear in mind the roads and trams are going to be a lot busier.

Oh wow

DeanStockwelll · 15/09/2025 05:07

I am guessing ( hoping ) it may get called off , but if not its going to cause a lot of problems.

For clarification - it is not every bus in Greater Manchester that is cancelled. That MEN article is a list of every service cancellation.

Clearinguptheclutter · 15/09/2025 12:02

Yes our school have advised that they don’t expect the school buses to be running.

I fortunately wfh but I predict total chaos

MotherofPearl · 15/09/2025 12:04

Nightmare. I am WFH both of those days but my DC is going to struggle to get to college.

DeanStockwelll · 15/09/2025 14:25

@ohsaywhatnow , yes that headline makes it look like there are no buses at all but you are right some are running .

Yeah, had a bit of a panic at first 🤦‍♀️

I am giving this thread a bump ti try and get the information out to anyone that may be affected.

Unless there is a late change of mind the strike is still going ahead.
But not all services are affected, you can easily check if yours is here.
Do not rely on the bee net work app as that still says the buses are running as normal.
