Sick of rain

Anyone else just sick of the rain every single day

OP posts:
GeniuneWorkOfFart · 14/09/2025 11:53

Nope. We need it.

(I do actually hate rain but we really really need it so I'm trying hard to not be grumpy about it).

mumofoneAloneandwell · 14/09/2025 11:54
Oh My God Omg GIF

YABU!!

someone should report this as a personal attack!!

HelpMeGetThrough · 14/09/2025 11:58

Peeing down and windy here. Sick of it. Bring back the hot weather!!!

scalt · 14/09/2025 12:06

It must be because of all those mumsnetters moaning about the summer’s heat. And it rained on St Swithun’s day.

DeanStockwelll · 14/09/2025 12:20

It's absolutely hammered down a few times over the past week or so in the North West of England, a am glad I haven't been caught in the worst of it.
But we have had a very long dry spell so we need it to refill the lakes, ponds , rivers, reservoir et al .

I feel really sorry for the farmers trying to get their harvest in , everything is turning to mud and rot .

Idontknowhatnametochoose · 14/09/2025 12:22

Yep. Totally miserable. Come back summer!

mondaytosunday · 14/09/2025 12:25

Nope! After the seemingly endless summer my garden is grateful and I love a reason to cosy up inside!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 14/09/2025 12:26

I don’t mind the rain (we definitely need it), but make the wind go away please! That’s always been my least favourite weather.

GreenGreenGreenRed · 14/09/2025 12:27

Nope, you had a hot summer a lot of us hated, let us enjoy our weather!

MidnightPatrol · 14/09/2025 12:27

I am sorry to be the one to share the bad news, but you live in the UK.

And it’s only September - so buckle in .

RedLeggedPartridge · 14/09/2025 12:28

YABU it’s much better than the unbearable heat. Anything above 23 and it’s too hot.

twistyizzy · 14/09/2025 12:29

Nope we are desperately in need of it to enable crops and grass to grow.
Very bad summer for growing anything/feeding livestock. Hay around here has increased from £40 per bale to over £100 and a real danger of running out before next Spring.

Agreed. Also you can put your pyjamas on really early of an evening. Soon it will be fine for log fires.
Begone horrible heat, bare yucky feet and sweaty bodies.

Amba1998 · 14/09/2025 12:33

I fear for you. It’s only September. It’s a long ride until April. Good luck

TizerorFizz · 14/09/2025 12:36

Loving the rain. Grass is now green.

defrazzled · 14/09/2025 12:38

No! We need a LOT more rain! All the reservoirs are empty and there are still hosepipe bans in place!

Gettingbysomehow · 14/09/2025 12:40

I love it so cosy indoors and at last nature is getting the water it needs. The cats are sleeping happily on their electric blanket.
Mind you I don't have small children rampaging around the house bored.

tumblingdowntherabbithole · 14/09/2025 12:42

I'm in two minds.

I love this kind of weather when I have nowhere to be and nothing to do - but I also work outdoors and am absolutely dreading this week.

Hazelforever · 14/09/2025 12:43

No? It's not rained much at all really, and we need it. Can't complain after the hot summer we've just had

Minniliscious · 14/09/2025 12:49

I miss being able to hang my washing out 😢

MintTwirl · 14/09/2025 12:52

It’s the greyness that gets me, it makes me feel so low and urghh.

zingally · 14/09/2025 12:53

It's cloudy, but still as a millpond out there, currently! I've just been out doing some gardening!

We're expecting a storm this afternoon, so I keep glancing out the window, but nothing to see yet!

I looked into a brook and it's still dry. Meadows have green shoots but the earth is still dust dry.
Not sure which crops you're talking about. Harvesting was long ago.

Yikes101 · 14/09/2025 12:59

Yes, it’s miserable knowing that this is it for the next 6 months. I need it to be dry enough to mow the grass for winter, it went straight from dead and dry to continually wet.
