Second hand on market place

I often look at market place for something I need first, as you can recycle stuff for children etc, toys and equipment.

It is getting ridiculously expensive though, today I was browsing and the page shows items you may want - a car seat was advertised for more than the cost new of the same item - I actually checked online and Boots had the same item for £10 less

Anyone else finding people want far to much money for second hand items?

Some people do take the piss, but those items don’t sell.

I think most people offer what they are prepared to pay, so the "for sale" price is largely irrelevant.

IME sellers ask for more than they want as they know most people will make offers.

Really, I just move on without offering, as its not worth my time explaining that I can get it new cheaper and offer 50% less - which would be nearer the mark
