To think there must be a better solution for router storage?

All the phone line/internet/ whatever they're called connections are in the middle of the hall, so currently the router is on top of a console table. I really hate that it's on display.

Previously we had it in a kallax, but behind a front, so you couldn't see it, which was good for hiding it, but the kallax was really bulky and made the hall seem small.

What do you do with yours? Any good solutions for hiding it away without it taking up much space?

Moving the connections isn't an option.

We bought this from Amazon and put the router on the floor underneath the bottom shelf. With things on all the other shelves (plants/ornaments) it's not noticeable.

That's a beautiful table. I'd still really like it not on display, but it would definitely be less noticeable near the floor that on top.

In a basket? You could cut the bottom out

How do you mean, a basket on a shelf?

Don't put it low down or hidden in a cupboard as your WiFi signal strength will not be as good. A high shelf in the middle of the house is better so maybe a wall mounted shelf above head height?

Are you on Pinterest @WilliamBell ? There’s lots of great ideas on there …

Ah I didn't realise this. It will be wires everywhere with a high shelf though so I'm not sure I can resign myself to that look!

I bought a tall basket, which I stood in front of the BT socket (which the builder had put in the most awkward place in the house) cut a hole in the back, threaded the wires through and hid the router inside.

To look at it you would never realise what was inside / behind it.

The router works perfectly. It doesn’t seem to mind being at floor level and hidden.

But I agree with you, if someone could design a neat way of concealing them they would make a fortune.
