Schools in Richmond Upon Thames Borough

Good Day Mums,

We’re moving from Germany to Richmond upon Thames with our two kids, aged 11 and 5.

From what I’ve seen on social media, it seems that some schools in the UK are struggling with behavioural issues — things like disruptive kids, teachers having difficulty maintaining control, and bullying.

I wanted to ask how common this is in schools in the borough, both primary and secondary. Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated😊

Thank you in advance.

Do you want to continue your children in the German system, as there is the German school in Richmond on Petersham Road.

The nursery for German kids is called Kish I believe.

The British media loves a whinge. My three all went to primary and secondary schools in LBRUT and there were no major issues with bullying or troublemakers. Of course there will always be a few but they all loved their schools.
Their secondary was also the least sought after one: Twickenham School. They all got a good education and made wonderful friendships even in the ‘worst’ school in the borough.
What area of Richmond are you looking at? It’s a lovely place to live.

@Readyforseptember we would like to put the kids into the UK system. They both speak English well but my older would need a bit of support in writing

@Yamamm we are still researching and intend to visit soon. From our research Twickenham, Kew and Richmond itself seem nice and have some of the best schools in their catchmen (so far, this is online research, so I could be wrong). Wondering about Hampton.
