Louise on Radio 2

Every time I turn Radio 2 on, they are playing Louise, by which they mean Louise Redknapp. This morning, this was in the form of a song from her set at Radio 2’s party in the park this weekend. It sounded like my drunk Aunty Kay singing in Benidorm.

Am I the only person who doesn’t understand why Radio 2 seems to be the new promotional machine for Louise? Or am I missing something and she’s actually great?

But otherwise I agree that shes being super heavily promoted - i dont listen to radio 2 but shes always on itv

I know pretty much nothing about her personal life - but I will now go and google it. I just can’t understand from where or why she gets the level of promotion she does 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have a soft spot for her, loved her in Eternal!

Why shouldn't she have some help from the industry?

The song is rubbish. I think she is a beautiful woman, but this constant bigging up of these celebrities is a bit much sometimes!

Well it was her choice, she left him pretty devastated at the time I seem to remember then seemingly lived to regret doing so.

She said she wasnt happy being married and did strictly which made her want her freedom

The thing is, if you leave your successful/handsome husband, make sure you're bloody sure because there are women of childbearing age ready and waiting in the wings waiting to take your place 😬😬😬

She seems sweet and nice and looks amazing but I'm not sure who her audience is and who would buy or stream her music. Old Eternal fans?

They were interviewing Belinda Carlisle on R4 this week… apparently she’s touring. It’s just a nostalgia fest for a certain demographic isn’t it.

Agree that her ex is not only fit , but also loaded.
Of course he wouid find another young beauty to get together with. , but nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors so she obviously had her reasons for wanting out.

Agree, the BBC seems to have spells of this gushing over-promotion of a particular person, I've noticed it with other music figures the last few years - presumably they have some sort of financial interest in/contract with Louise currently?

I feel like it should be made clear of they have, surely it would be a blurring of the public broadcaster role because they're promoting a product.

Sounds like another Strictly casualty, that show seems to end a lot of previously sound relationships.

From memory she wanted to "find herself" as she didn't feel supported by her family.
Which from the reporting at the time was nonsense as her husband supported her in whatever she wanted to do.
She did get a rough ride over it as she played it out in public and lost a lot of support from fans.

I haven't seen any of it at all, so am clearly watching the wrong things. But agree it's annoying when someone is constantly pushed like that - e.g. one radio station with their song on rotation. It tends to spoil the song for me. I guess it works for the occasional listener.

Saw her performance at Radio 2 In The Park and thought her very lacklustre. Also the crowd was very small.
