Posting here for traffic while trying to kill some time.

Hi was just wondering if anyone has any experience with a low temp in their baby. DD is 7 months she’s been a bit unwell today with teething and a bit of a cough. I put her to bed as normal but she woke after an hour so went to get her when I gave her a kiss on the forehead she felt cold so I took her temp and it was 35. Referred to google and done what it said. Put her inside my dressing gown with me to share body heat and repeated temp 3x over 10 mins.

It went up to 35.2. I rang 111 and have spoken to a doctor. She told me to put her in bed with me and check temp again after an hour and if hasn’t reached 35.5 to go to a n e and if it has put her in cot and repeat after 30 mins to see if she can maintain the temp on her own. So it’s been an hour and her temp is 35.5 so she is now in her cot and I will check again soon.

Was just wondering if anyone else has had this? Sorry for the rambling post. I hope it makes sense.

They are concerned because they want to rule out sepsis. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/sepsis/ Sepsis show a high temperature or a low temperature.. if you have any concerns, take her to A&E

If you’re worried at all head for A&E. Septic babies are much more commonly cold than hot.

I’d be going in, not worth risking it. Best to get checked over.

I’ve called my mum to get here asap so I can take her in.
