So in a bout of insomnia last night and having read every thread on here, I started searching random things and then random people and I ended up on insta where I googled my EXH new wife. I say new wife- we split up over 2 decades ago and I have been remarried for over 15 years and so have they.
I was starting to scroll through her posts when my fat fingers accidentally LIKED one of her posts. I quickly tapped unlike but feel the only course of action is to delete all my social media, erase my entire life and move to darkest peru.
Aibu?

@Broomania77 don't forget the marmalade sandwiches.....😊

WiseSheep · 05/09/2025 07:59

Might be too close to be honest...

Nah, it's been a long time and we've all done it.

@Broomania77 and sent my ex husband a friend request on Facebook....😯😂

Rainbowcat99 · 05/09/2025 08:39

If you like something or send a friend request then withdraw it immediately, doesn’t the notification disappear?

I did this fairly recently (totally inappropriate accidental friend request) and when I googled it, it seemed to suggest that the only way she would be aware of it is if she had actually been online and looking at that precise moment.

So, op hopefully the chance of her seeing it (whilst not zero) are fairly small?

I also googled that and am hoping that is the case. I quite like my life and am not sure I like marmalade all that much! Although I quite like the name Carmen Santiago if I do decide to quit society 🤣

Peru is a tourist destination now. The Gobi desert might be a safer option.

Orangepate · 05/09/2025 09:16

According to Trump most Peruvians want to move to the US.. I’d go straight there, cheaper.

Octavia64 · 05/09/2025 09:17

Haha my ex husbands new wife accidentally sent me a friend request.

the was before they were married and while he was still maintaining he was single…..

Comedycook · 05/09/2025 09:22

I wonder if after you've liked and then unliked...if you then block the person immediately, maybe that also reduces the risk that they can see what you've done? I have absolutely no idea by the way...just a thought though

I'd rather suffer the humiliation of my exh thinking i was pining after him, ringing everyone I know to tell them and going on the Jeremy Vine show to explain and debate my insomniac stalking shame than live anywhere where that giant orange dorito faces idiot is in charge 🤣🤣🤣

NASA and SpaceX might still be recruiting people for the Mars expeditions, Op, maybe worth a try?
