Feel exhausted wish I could quit job

I’m probably being unreasonable but I’m menopausal, single, with two teenagers working 9-3 in a stressful payroll job. I work from home twice a week and I can survive those days but when I’m in the office I just want to cry. Everything feels so stressful and I feel like I can’t do it anymore.

i started on HRT last month, and just had two weeks annual leave and started to feel much better! Today is my third day in the office and I’m in the toilets hiding as my head is pounding and I’ve just had enough.

i don’t know if it’s the job (very stressful time sensitive payroll) or whether it’s me.

I’ve been job hunting but haven’t come across anything that looks any better!

I had to drop a day in peri, I was so stressed and anxious.

How old are you? Generally peri does get better..not great but better!

Payroll can be very stressful. Is there anything in the role that can be changed to make it better? You have fairly good hours, do you get a break in the day?

Maybe ask to do 3 days WFH - psychologically it’s the majority of the time and if you can do 2 days, why not 3.

What is it that’s making you so stressed though? Has something changed work wise? My most awful stressful period was when I felt like I wasn’t supported at work and the only answer was to change jobs - the difference was instant and I love work now. It’s important to understand if it is work or changes in yourself to find the solution.

I think the constant deadlines. There’s always so much to do it a small space of time.

that’s a good idea to see if I can increase my wfh days.

Can you change the cutoff point for payroll changes? Stop HR making backdated awards etc? I know it depends on sector, but some people think they can carry on changes until BACs submission day
