How it'd work is they'd go into a shop about 2 hours before closing time and find a place to hide. Then they try not to get caught. Sometimes they'd leave their original hiding place at like 2am and sneak round (even if there's night workers) and they sometimes stay in that original hiding place all the way until the morning but it's rare.
