Leaving city law to be a sole practitioner

I’m a partner at a city law firm, earning a good salary. I am however, 15+ years on, very done with the corporate world and all its BS. Politics. Wings being clipped. I am entrepreneurial and feel as though I want to be doing something for myself and also creating a legacy for my kids. All of my work is self generated but that is from large corporates, some but not all would come with me. I’d need to pick up local work too.

I socialise on real estate transactional. Would I be mad to consider setting up alone?! Anyone else have any advice and done likewise?

Not mad at all. The keystone type models are appealing though.
