To be annoyed at handyman?

I booked a handyman to assemble some wardrobes in DC bedroom.

I specifically asked him prior to visiting if he could wear protective covers on his feet as the carpet has just recently been fitted.

Anyway to my horror I was amazed to see him going out to his van in the protective covers and then going back upstairs all over my brand new carpet!

I saw this on the Ringdoor bell after he has left as I was checking for a parcel delivery which had apparently been delivered

I am really annoyed at this and feel like texting him and leaving him a bad review.
Respecting other people’s property costs nothing, especially when your being paid to do a job.

AIBU?

Was there any damage / dirt on the carpet? If yes, complain. If not, forget about it and don't use him again.

Yes there was a little bit of dirt on the carpet that I vacuumed up.

Really no harm done then.

☝This.

Not really worth starting a thread for let alone consider leaving a bad review.

You had to hoover after a handyman had been 🤣 Christ - call the police!

He simply forgot the crazy lady made him wear bags in his feet that’s all, unless people have obvious mud on their shoes, you’re not damaging a carpet.
