Hotel room like a sauna

Stuck in an over hot hotel room ( premier inn) and not sure what my options are?

The hotel room is roasting - there was a fan on full and the window open when we arrived- there is no air con but the temperature here ( outer London) is not other wise unbearable today- it seems they have a heating issue in the building.

have been back to reception and all they can offer is another fan/ so I think they know there is an issue but it they won’t admit it.

Im travelling on my own with 2 DCs - using public transport - we arrived here late after 9.30 after a 4 hour wait in an A&E fr an X-ray on DDs suspected broken ankle - so moving tonight is simply not an option.

but we are booked in for 2 nights - and the thought of being here again tomorrow is unbearable- what are my options for PI moving me to another hotel for our second night ( there are a couple of others within a few miles of here…) can anyone advise me?

I would double check if any of the rooms have AC’s. We had the same problem in the Putney Bridge Premier Inn a couple of summers ago. We were in the old wing as it turned out. The next morning we spoke to reception and they managed to move us to a room with an AC. Might be worth asking them.

Well the good thing about premier inns is if you don’t have a good night sleep you get a refund (I’ve put that to the test)

Is there a radiator on in the room or is the heat coming from elsewhere? I’d have a look online and see if there’s any other hotels or air bnb you could book for tomorrow.

I’ve checked thermostat and the radiator and it’s coming from inside the building 🥵 It’s one of their older hotels and I doesn’t have air con at all- I chose it specially as the new ones with the sealed windows make me ill - I think I’m going to have to stop staying in them after this.

@itsachickeninnit tell me more about this refund - I complained after the last disaster and was fobbed off without i
even an apology…

I can’t afford to rebook anything different unfortunately

Take the second fan and then position one fan blowing out of the window and the other blowing into the room. The temperature won’t significantly differ but it will feel cooler.

I have had this before. They gave me a wine bucket full of ice to put in front of fan. Helped a bit. I would have got a refund but they were so helpful and gave up complimentary breakfast so all was good in the end….
