Partner vaping, leaves a bad smell

My partner used to be a heavy smoker, he turned to vaping to save money and stop the smell which I was grateful for. The problem is that he vapes in the living room at night when the kids are in bed, when I come down in the morning it stinks, there's an awful stale smell I can't stand it. He can't smell it so thinks im just making it up, but im conscious that it will be noticeable to guests too. Any ideas in how to get rid of the smell?

Vape outside only.

Well I'm totally anti cigarettes and I really hate them but imo the smell of vaping is absolutely disgusting. It's worse than the smell of cigarettes because it's a cloying sickly smell. Stomach churning.
I agree with pp that he really needs to vape outside.

Can he vape in a room with an open outside window?

If it's any help, and coming from someone who knows someone who vapes indoors and I can't dictate what they do, not my house lol! - they use spearmint or menthol flavours and I cannot smell it at all. I think the fruity ones are disgusting so maybe that's what your partner is using.

I suppose no one will agree with me, and will pile on about how shit vaping is blah blah blah, but I'm just saying! BTW it's my brother who lives in a small flat and he can do what he likes. I just cannot get any odour when I pop in.

My husband vapes outside. He has occasionally vaped inside (which is incredibly disrespectful) but I can smell it instantly and he gets an earful. Its his choice to vape. It's mine and my child's right to not have to breath it in or live in a stinking house.

I’ve banned my husband from vaping at home. He’s an adult and can do what he wants (within reason) outside the home but I don’t want the smell or chemicals anywhere near my house

Did he smoke cigarettes in the house? If not, the same rules re: smoking outside should apply.

You did willingly go into a relationship with a smoker, which many people won’t do.
