To get a new kitchen fitter

I am getting a new kitchen installed. The kitchen fitter has completed 65-70% of the job but injured his back and hasn't turned up for 3 weeks. He hasn't been able to commit to a date when he can restart the work but jas promised to complete the work when he is well enough.
He has done a decent job, and Inhave used him previously, so I don't doubt his explanation. However, I cannot continue with a half done kitchen, the house is a mess and it won't be sorted until the kitchen is ready.

should I get a new kitchen fitter?

Whatever you do don’t go behind his back and just get another fitter. Do him the courtesy of discussing it with him and he may even be able to recommend someone. You’re also unlikely to be able to get a decent replacement at short notice.

I second @Yellowpingu ! I am a kitchen designer, my fitter will 100% recommend someone he trusts to a client if he can't complete the work. If this person has done a good job, then they won't recommend you someone who isn't up to their standard!
