To ask if anyone has ever used a PI?

Wondering if anyone has ever used a private investor to find a long lost relative?

I'm searching for my DGF who lost contact with my DM when she was just a child. I've been searching through archives etc but can't find a trace of him, no death certificate, nothing. It's a long shot as he will be 104 but he might still be out there and if he is I doubt we have much time left. I can't think of any other way to find him...

Contact Long Lost Family tv show. I know it sounds silly, but you never know. Use a strong application.

Im sure you’ve tired it but what about ancestry/dna thing through it?

I’ve not personally used a PI but one someone who has to good end. Go for it, or you’ll always wonder!

I thought about this but I dont think my DM would be happy to be on tv despite desperately trying to find her DF.

Assuming you have tried the DNA route?
in case he has any other living relatives

Yes, tracked down long lost cousins but no one has seen or heard from DGF in decades...
