AIBU - worried about Gatwick strikes

We fly to our wedding next Friday 22nd and there seems to be baggage handler strikes scheduled for next weekend 22-26th we get married in Spain on the 27th and I’m so nervous we won’t get there and it’s going to be chaos.

my partner is Spanish and we have family out there, we have about 50-60 flying out from England though over the course of next weekend.

Gatwick have said ‘We don’t expect there to be any interruptions to our holiday flight schedule’ and have also said ‘we don’t anticipate any disruption to passengers caused by this supplier’

im really over thinking this and I’m full of anxiety… 😭 has anyone experienced this before?

hopefully the company and union can come to a agreement and give the workers what they need and let us all enjoy the holiday

Wouldn't be just be a case of you can get there but your bags can't? No biggie just pack light

Might be tricky to pack light for your own wedding! Is the dress already out there?!

The dress and all wedding day stuff is going in my hand luggage, the stuff in the hold is just swimming stuff and clothes for the week ( we are a family of 4 )

i just want the flights to go ahead :(

It's the baggage scanners that are striking. So all flights will be affected.

Might not go ahead though.
