Lack of sleep making me anxious

Iv been struggling to sleep lately - I trialled Elvanse but can't sleep

not taken for a few days but am struggling to fully sleep and keep jumping awake when I sleep or drift off feel like I'm in fight or flight and don't know why. I'm so tired but can't seem to go to sleep it's like im scared
just had a massive attack have a weird feeling - any ideas?

It sounds like you're either suffering from anxiety or a reaction to the stimulant medication. It could take more than a few days to fully clear your system. If it doesn't get better within a week or so you should probably go to the doctor.
In the meantime you could try melatonin 10 mg, (look for the long acting kind) and 500 mg theanine. Just google if they interact any meds you're taking first. You could also try sleep hypnosis. You can find it on YouTube. A hot epsom salt bath before bed can help too. I'm a lifelong insomniac so I have a very complex routine for getting to sleep which only helps a bit. You name it, I've tried it. I feel your pain lovey.

What time of day were you taking Elvanse? I have DCs who take it and we aim to take it before 9am so as not to disrupt sleep. They do struggle with sleep, which is part of their ADHD make up. Taking stimulants later in the day can make the sleep worse.
