To ask for my backpay?

I work in a world where annual pay increments are due in April, but negotations with the unions usually mean we get them much later in the year, with backpay.

I left a job in May, the award has just been agreed.

I know from having been on the other end of it, that I am entitled to have backpay dor Aprim and May paid, but there's no mechanism to have it paid automatically.

They will pay it if I ask, but I also know that it's not straightforward to make it happen on their systems, and it will be a pain for the person who has to arrange it. She is possibly the only person from that job I'd count as a friend, and as they haven't replaced me, is already drowning.

Of course I should ask for what I'm due, but it won't amount to much, maybe £150 less tax. Would you?

Yes I would ask you are entitled to it

Of course you should ask for it. Your work friend's job load is irrelevant.

Of course you should
