Eurocamp complaint

AIBU to ask Eurocamp for compensation for our holiday last week?

Arrived at the campsite on Tuesday teatime to discover no water across the whole park. Pool closed, no water in our mobile home and no way to flush toilets or shower.

This continues into the next day until late afternoon. We could use the toilets in a block a few mins away but the whole site was using them and they were disgusting with no toilet roll.

Fixed by late afternoon on day two.

It happened again on day four although only for the day.

The kids were more concerned about the pool to be honest but we had a full toilet, a sink full of dishes and couldn’t wash.

Reception were less than useless and there was nowhere in the area to move to.

It was then fixed until our last day when the shower cut out mid way through a shower and would only work on freezing setting.

Aside from that we booked an XL home that was far from XL with no space at all in one of the bedrooms. You had to literally shuffle sideways around the bed.

And the music in the bar was appalling with the animation team choosing to play music with repeated swear words.

Despite this, we did have a good time but I resent paying almost £1000 for this.

We had a terrible time with Eurocamp a few years back, complained to the Chief Exec when we got home (after exhausting all the on site options and at their suggestion) and got all our money back. They handled the complaint really well so definitely do it!

Ha. You must have been at Le Chene Gris too! We got back a few days ago. The whole situation was outrageous. We have put in a formal complaint demanding full refund. Got Chat GPT to write it and add all the legal stuff in so fingers crossed.

I would certainly complain about the water, and I agree that Eurocamp's customer service has been good when I've needed it in the past (the central one that is, camps vary a bit..)
I wouldn't mention the size of the home though, or the entertainment, both of which are a bit more subjective - I'd focus on the thing which is more likely to get a decent response from them.

God that sounds horrendous. You should be entitled to a full refund.

Be the squeaky wheel and keep complaining. Social media and review sites are often the most effective way.

You guessed it! It was awful and the kids were gutted about the pool.

Hi. Ive come across this post whilst looking for some information. We stayed at the same site in August this year and experienced the same issues. We're currently going through the complaints process with Eurocamp who aren't offering much in the way of compensation. Im a little stuck what to do next and im just looking for some advice.

Thanks. My husband has a medical condition and the lack of water impacted us quite a lot. I have politely expressed his discomfort and ours as a family. Whilst im not likely to get a full refund, I do feel like the amount offered is quite insulting given that running water is something you would just expect when on holiday.
Im feeling very frustrated with it all and it has definitely put me off booking wit them again. 😊
