Should I cancel my hotel booking

I have reserved a hotel in Chester that gets great reviews. It is a dog friendly hotel so in the special requests I asked for a non-dog room. The reply was that all the rooms are pet friendly but they could find maybe find me one that wasn’t used much for pets . I am thinking I may get a crummy room.? I do have a dog myself so not a dog hater but I don’t allow him in my bedroom . Hotel is convenient for the event I am attending . Should I cancel?

There you go. First three answers settle it. 😂

No
If it's got great reviews and it's really convenient for the event you are attending why would you cancel?

Givenupshopping · 11/08/2025 20:44

If you don't like the idea of dogs in the bedroom OP, then I think you should cancel it, as it will play on your mind, and if you find as much as a single dog hair you will be uncomfortable. Find somewhere else. Personally, I love dogs, but I would never book a hotel that allows dogs, as you don't know what you're going into, and at the very least, who wants to stay in a room that may smell of dogs. It may of course be absolutely spotless with not a sign of dog, but do you want to take that chance?

Dunno

Are you happy being in a place that potentially had dogs in the bed. If it bothers you cancel and go.aomewhete you'd feel more comfortable

I cancelled the room and have managed to book an equally nice hotel

I think that was for the best OP, a good decision.

I’m from Chester if you want to run the 2 past me

Good call. I once unknowingly booked into a hotel that allowed dogs and some mutt next door was barking on and off all night.

I think you’ve made the right decision.
