Would this be poor gym etiquette?

Only one gym by me does classes. They are all late.

I can only really get home late 2 days a week so Im thinking of going to classes one after another on those days. However, stupidly there is no gap between the classes eg class 1 finishes at 1915, class 2 starts at 1915.

Would it be really poor form and rude to leave the earlier class 5 mins early for the next class? Obviously Id let the instructor know and Id be at be back.and sneak pit quietly.

Ive never known a gym to run a timetable like this.

No. Just explain. It’ll be fine.

Daffodilsarefading · 10/08/2025 21:18

I think it’s fine, just explain what you are doing at the beginning of the class.

They probably have lots of people doing back to back classes. Are they in the same space? If so you'll be fine. Have a word with the instructor before you start and see what they say

In my gym the classes are either in the same space or the instructors are aware that people like to go from one class to another and they are conscious to make sure they don't run over on the first class

This would be fine at my gym, they always finish a couple of minutes before the stated time.

Also the end of the class is often a cool down which you can miss if you are going straight on to more exercise

SoftLass · 10/08/2025 21:20

Lots of people do this at my gym, we do bodypump for example and the instructor tells everyone when we start stretching that if they are doing body combat to nip next door. Won't be a problem

MeridaBrave · 10/08/2025 21:23

I do it. I position myself near the door and tell the teacher in advance. And slip out a couple of minutes early.

Great stuff. Thanks.
My previous gym (which has stopped doing classes) always gave 10 minutes between classes.
