Have they overheard arguments before?

To me the wording is clear and means they have heard arguments before. But the person who sent the first message won’t accept that the response they received implies that. AIBU?

Message someone sent to their neighbour:
“Dear Kelly,
We apologise for any disturbance last night. Jack and I had some disagreements, but we made up now.
Elaine”

The response from the neighbour:
“Hello Elaine, I’m always concerned when I hear you and Jack. Everyone has a disagreement now and then but I’m glad everything is ok now. Take care.
Kelly”

edit: my favourite part is that when I explained the response to the original sender, they refused to accept that it meant more than one occasion, and then shouted at me over it. I’m doing this to show them they’re wrong as they don’t believe me.

Well, it sounds like a thoroughly unhealthy situation, but yes Kelly has heard arguments before.

Obviously they have heard previous disagreements

Well Kelly doesn’t seem to be overly worried if she says everyone has arguments from time to time but Elaine should maybe be thinking about whether her relationship is healthy if it happens a lot! Also, if things get too bad, Kelly may be a useful witness or safe space to run to.

Elaine is referring to one disagreement, Kelly is talking about several arguments.

Elaine has heard regular arguments from Kelly and Jacks house, and is clearly implying concern while trying not to embarrass Kelly.

Yes of course Elaine has overheard Kelly and Jack arguing before, that's clear. Maybe Kelly should consider dumping Jack if arguing loudly is such a regular thing?
