How to make yourself look & feel great?

Looking for some fun & positive advice/wisdom!

I’m through the full on baby & pre school years. Two kids in school, professional job, lost weight & look after my skin but feel so.. meh!

How do you make yourself look & more importantly feel your best? What makes a good difference?

No smoking, no alcohol, good quality food, enough exercise.

The best haircut you can afford.

The things that matter most to me is sleep & reducing stress. I work p/t so I can have me time, time with family, time sigh extended family & friends & time with DH. I still don't have enough time!

The best haircut you can afford.

I love a good haircut, and even when I was young and broke I would save up for a haircut at my favourite Mayfair salon because nothing else compared. However a good haircut is VERY short-lived in terms of making me feel good inside and out.

Most important things for me:
-Exercise
-Healthy eating
-Enough sleep

All three, specifically.

Exercise, fresh air (being outdoors a lot and sleeping with the windows open), drinking a lot of water, eating 'clean', sleep (I'm not very good at this one).

I also like to look 'put together' at all times these days. I can still slob around the house in tracky bottoms, but they're nicely fitting and clean, paired with clean white socks and a clean vest etc. No more wearing ugly, mis shaped clothing splattered with old paint or spag bol stains!

I’ve bought a load of different cheap perfumes and wear one every day. It makes me feel as though I’m making an effort even on the days I’m dressed casually.

For me it's regular exercise, eating a good diet, drinking alcohol rarely/in moderation and having regular holidays.

cheezncrackers · 10/08/2025 08:56

And good sleep! How could I forget that? If you aren't sleeping well you're going to look and feel crap.

Things that make me feel good

eating well
exercising
being in nature
looking after my hair (got a style that I have to at least put a bit of effort into rather than scrapped back pony tail)
quick no fuss make up (me but better kinda thing)
sleep/time for my self
feeling organized
keeping my weight stable

After a few busy weekends I made sure I had nothing booked for this one. Yesterday was catching up on a few jobs & lazing around with the cat, today will be a six-mile walk through parks & woods with my phone in my bag in airplane mode, just coming out to be a camera or a map. That always makes me feel good.
