Airbnb guest sending hostile texts, blocking doesn't work

QuaintCyanPanda · 09/08/2025 21:47

I have reported it but the blocking feature doesn't seem to work. I asked him to stop contacting me because of this and he just keeps writing back 'I'll report you to airbnb' and 'I don't care what you want'. How do I make this stop?

I'm sensitive and i'm actually finding it quite upsetting especially as he knows where I live. how do you guys cope doing airbnb, this shit is scary

Just keep reporting the blocking problem to Airbnb.

Little else you can do until it's fixed.

jhmlwos · 09/08/2025 21:52

That sounds tough OP.

is it a home set up? I use a third party for my cottage so although I’m close by they would not have my address.

what is the nature of the texts. Why is it an issue if he reports you?

I would message the help desk on the site and screen shot messages. Then ignore. If it continues contact the police.

Copperoliverbear · 09/08/2025 21:53

I go around with a few people drag him out. Throw his clothes after him and change the locks, his word against yours, he left of his own accord.

whackamole666 · 09/08/2025 21:54

Screen shot every message. Don't answer if he calls you. If he is threatening you, call the police as well - as keep Airbnb informed.

youalright · 09/08/2025 21:56

What does he actually want is something broken and your refusing to sort it or the description was wrong and he wants a refund

BruceAndNosh · 09/08/2025 21:58

Is he still in the property or is this relating to a completed stay?

youalright · 09/08/2025 22:03

So are you going to tell us what the actual problem is or not as nobody can say if yabu or not without knowing.

Viviennemary · 09/08/2025 22:05

You need to sort out the problem.

Gottogetoutofthisplace · 09/08/2025 22:20

I’m a superhost, but unable to offer any advice as your post is missing so much context - what is the issue that’s caused this conflict?

BeltaLodaLife · 09/08/2025 22:23

What is actually going on?

Same. But tell him to message you via airbnb platform and also report the concern to airbnb

SmurfnoffIce · 10/08/2025 08:11

Screenshot everything. And remind him that guests can get chucked off Airbnb too.

Jessbow · 10/08/2025 09:06

Depends what his issue is- you dont say

There is no egg slicer in the drawer- yup, ignore
The hot water isn't working - then you need to react, surely?

Nofrillsandpeace · 08/09/2025 10:35

Screen shot messages, and send straight to air bnb. We had similar, but with a host a round a year ago. He sent threatening messages which were really disturbing, and a lot worse than yours. We blocked him on WhatsApp, but then he used the platform! We had to file a police report in the end, I was so scared he would use our passport information!
We had to put a notification on so if our details were use online it would notify us. He staged photographs and made a whole host of fraudulent claims. We had left his property immaculate, but he was fleecing guests for basic maintenance/fabricated claims. Honesty, it put us off Airbnb for life. He was a master manipulator; thank goodness we had time stamped evidence that he was lying.

bruffin · 08/09/2025 10:38

What is his problem with the airbnb? Have you tried to sort it out?
