Stinky tradesman....would it put you off using his company?

So, last year I used a small local business to supply and fit carpets in my daughter's house. The owner came over to measure up, dressed normally, looked tidy, clean-shaven and presentable, price was reasonable, carpet was fine, fitters were great. Very happy. This year I said I'd pay for a carpet for my grandson at my daughter-in-law's house, so asked the same guy to come and measure up. He turned up looking dreadful, scruffy beard, messy longish hair, absolutely filthy tracky bottoms and vest, but worst of all very strong BO, I mean enough to make you cough. He said he was in the middle of putting up a new fence at his house. After he'd been in and measured up, I had to open windows and spray air-freshener around. Maybe it's silly, but this has really put me off using his business again, although I wouldn't have to see him again, it would be the fitters who come around. I just think it's so disrespectful to come into somebody's house like that, surely it would only take 10 minutes to have a quick wash, a squirt of body spray and change clothes. AIBU?

You should just tell him he doesn't have your business anymore because he stinks

If he sends you a price via email OP, I would write back and say:

'I don't know what's happened to you since you last did work for me, but the fact that you turned up dirty, smelly, and hadn't even changed your clothes, shows a complete lack of respect for me as a customer. I will therefore not be using your services this time, and suggest that you take a look at your personal hygiene before you loose any more customers'

UPDATE, after a week and more of him messing about and not sending me prices, etc, I decided to just go to United Carpets. When I told my daughter-in-law, she said she was so relieved, as he used to catcall her and other young mums on their way to school, and he was super creepy!!! Wish she'd told me before, but thank goodness we're not using him now.
