Ex has NO excuse for forgetting son's 11th birthday

Son was nervous to meet father at the supervised visits at social services centre (abroad - not UK ). Afraid that his father would forget his birthday. Well, he did. Older daughter reminded ex at the end it was son's birthday. He answered, " No, it's not." Son was silent. Then ex said happy birthday. Son asked if he had a present for him (they only meet once a week). Ex's answer, " It's at my home.:"

Poor child is devastated but trying to hide it. What excuse is there for forgetting a child's birthday ?

There’s no excuse, one day his kids will want nothing to do with him and he’ll still wonder why. You just need to be there for them.
