Is it me or this term really sexist

“She thinks her shit doesn’t stink”

I have never heard a man described in similar terms and it’s usually said by men about confident women.

Is it me or this is really sexist?

It's just a way of saying "she thinks she's special"

Like:

He thinks he's God's gift

skymagentatwo · 31/07/2025 20:16

I've usually heard it said about posh people of both sexes, specifically about women never.

So on that basis your 100% wrong.

Lemniscate8 · 31/07/2025 20:17

I've heard this more often referring to men than to women - maybe its just the women in your vicinity!

Pleatherandlace · 31/07/2025 20:19

I think this is a unisex insult

Idontjetwashthefucker · 31/07/2025 20:19

It's not a sexist term, not everything is

thepastinsidethepresent · 31/07/2025 20:22

I’ve heard it said about people of both sexes.

I do, however, now have OutKast’s ‘Roses’ stuck in my head, and probably will for the rest of the evening. 😄

thepastinsidethepresent · 31/07/2025 20:23

Also I’ve just remembered my ex used to say it as ‘shit don’t stick’ 😄

Tiredofme · 31/07/2025 20:24

I've never heard that expression actually.

I know Terry in the Likely Lads said " she thinks her backside is a perfume factory" when talking about Thelma. Which is similar, but not quite so crude and was funny in the context of the show.

I wouldn't use either expression about either sex.

ToKittyornottoKitty · 31/07/2025 20:27

YABU, it’s not sexist

TheyFuckYouUpYourMamAndDad · 31/07/2025 20:28

I’ve heard this said about men (mostly!) and women. It’s not aimed at one sex in particular…just those people who think they are ‘a cut above’ the rest of us 😬

ConfusedSloth · 31/07/2025 20:43

No, it’s not sexist. It is used for men the same amount, if not more, than women. I’m not sure why you think otherwise tbh.

LabubuMyArse · 31/07/2025 20:47

Ah. Another one of those threads. Thought they'd gone away but no such luck.

XWKD · 31/07/2025 20:49

No it's not sexist.

Bleachedlevis · 31/07/2025 21:03

It’s a revolting expression, whether it’s sexist or not.

HoskinsChoice · 31/07/2025 22:09

This kind of nonsense really pisses me off. Sexism is real, we see it all over the place and we need to stamp it out. But trying to make stuff that isn't sexist look like it's sexist just makes women look ridiculous and detracts from the fight for equality.
