To ask if anyone does MMA?

I've been to three classes however I don't think its the right one for me, as while people are friendly and helpful some have been going for years, and are therefore a lot more advanced than I am. I feel quite out of depth as a result.

I've found a new class which is designed for beginners and going to my first session tomorrow, hoping it'll suit me better! I have been enjoying it but it was hard being the only newbie. Has anyone else got into MMA?

Had to look up MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) - sounds quite technical so makes sense to start with a beginners class if you are just starting out!

I used to. Absolutely loved it, stopped due to pregnancy, hope to go back one day. I didn't do the full on sparing stuff but did do contact. Hitting the pads was so good for me!
I'd definitely start with a beginners class as very good people are intimidating even when they go slow/make allowances. It helps to learn along side people at the same level.

I did some MMA in my thirties. I think there's pros and cons about training with other beginners or those more advanced - you are likely to feel more confident with other beginners, but more advanced partners know how to adjust to your level and keep you safe.

I have done MMA at a few clubs and I think a lot just depends on the mix of people there, some people are just there for a hobby, some are wanting to compete and are a lot more aggressive/assertive, which is fine in the context but I found a bit intimidating! I'm not naturally competitive. As you'll know MMA includes a mixture of other martial art forms, I moved over to just training BJJ/grappling. I concluded though I do like padwork, I don't like being hit in the head!
