RSVP for dc birthday

DS (3) has his birthday at the end of next month. I invited about 25 kids from his nursery class. Only 6 have rsvp’d.

Some of them are his friends from the all day session so I don’t know their parents and even the ones I know, I don’t have their numbers to chase up.

Was just wondering from anyone with experience, is it normal for them not to rsvp or do they do it at the last minute (I understand it’s likely many will be on holiday at the time of the party)?

Also regarding catering and party bags/games ect, should I keep this prepared for 25 kids incase they turn up in the end. Any advice appreciated!

You won’t find out until much closer op, but definitely mention to whoever you can. In the future it’ll be easier, WhatsApp birthday groups make life much easier!!!

If it's not till the end of next month, you gave them out super early and id not expect to hear back for a while yet

Thanks all, it’s a school nursery so could only give them out at the end of term. Guess it is too early!

At our nursery we have always been given our invites well in advance incase people have plans etc. I have a couple of times just forgotten to RSVP as it's one of those thing I think "oh I will do that later when I get 2 minutes spare" and then forget because as a mum I have a million things to remember and then I ended up RSVPing closer to the date!

Are most of these kids still at nursery? Could you leave a little polite reminder a couple of weeks before on each child peg/cubby or give a sheet with names to a nursery worker and ask if they would mind just asking parents on pick up and tick the list if they are attending

So you handed them out in person?

and the nursery is closed over summer

and it’s 5 weeks away

and half of those 25 children probably won’t even know your child op

Give them a chance. And cater / party bags for the numbers you get an rsvp for

My experience is people reply about 2 weeks before; did you put an rsvp date on the invite? I normally do a couple of extra party bags in case people turn up who didn’t respond
