Okay so posting in AIBU maybe the worse decision I’ve made today. I’m at an absolute loss!
My husband travelled with South Western Railways on 7th July. He left his small bag on the train when he got off (completely his fault) he had two bags with him, he normally only carries one.
He called me as he was due in meetings so I filled in the online details that evening. He was returning home the next day so went to lost property at Waterloo and they said that yesterdays lost property had made it to them as yet.
I found a phone number on line and have tried it many times unsuccessfully. I’m at home all day due to disability so easier for me to try and sort this for him.
I then decided to call customer services but they say they don’t have any contact with lost property at all. But gave me an email address, I’ve emailed twice
Ive uploaded a picture and full information on what was in his bag but no call as the site promises.
It must be a nightmare for rail
companies dealing with people’s lost property but when it’s impossible to get through to anyone what else can I do.
He’s away again with work and I physically can’t get to Waterloo, we’re up North. They say that they get rid of lost property after 3 months. What else can I do? Really can’t afford to replace what he’s lost either.
I’ve tried to follow the process but nothing, any ideas or do we just have to right it all off?
He realises it was a stupid thing to do, he works incredibly hard to look after us all and I think he’s just exhausted which is why he forgot.
