To ask what to do? Car door damage…

opened the car door to get the kids in whilst in a case park and stupidly didn’t supervise him so when child has climbed in, he’s opened the door wider and it’s hit the car next to us. It’s put a little scratch on the paint on their door handle.

I don’t have a pen and paper and don’t want to leave the car to get one in case I miss them. What do I do????!!!!

Leave the kids in the car and go to shop to get pen and paper?

Take a photo of the number plate and then go and find a pen and paper? Can't your child just wait at the car and tell them? I assume if able to open and close doors then beyond toddler age so fine to leave for a few seconds?

He’s only 4. I don’t feel comfortable leaving him as it’s a multi story attached to a large shopping centre

Ask the next person that comes along if they have a pen and or paper?

Take the kids back out the car and go get pen and paper

But this is what I mean. If I leave the car, with our without kids and they come back and leave then what happens? It’s a huge shopping centre, it’s not just “nipping” in to the shop for a pen

why do you need to be so rude? Of course I’m not going to drive off. If it happened to me I’d be furious so I’m not going to do that to another person. Christ. Mumsnet is mad sometimes.

Can I even log with 101 as at the moment it’s car driving past not coming In or out the spaces next to us!

I'd wait and stand by my car (with kid still im it) and ask anyone who walks close to you in the car park if they have anything to write with and on.

A busy multistorey surely has lots of people coming and going and someone must have an old scrap of paper and pen in their bag

She doesn't want to leave in case she misses them leaving.
