AIBU to question if I should have a sweep?

My consultant has suggested a stretch and sweep tomorrow to see if we can get baby moving without having to go full induction. AIBU to wonder if this is a good idea with regards to the doctors’ strikes this weekend?

I’d be led entirely by your consultant
That was my approach anyway
and didn’t regret following for a nano second

It helped me with my 4th child it was a much better labour than my 1st that was induced.

I’m not worried about the actual sweep process and am more than happy with the suggestion. I’m just wondering if it’s not a great idea in case the sweep works and my labour has any complications seeing as there are doctor strikes starting tomorrow.

They will have doctors that aren’t on strike covering for them and on call

Yes but he wouldn’t have suggested if he was concerned

Had my baby last week but was going to be induced very close to strike. I asked and at our hospital they said that all the doctors would be consultants as the resident doctors were on strike.

No I imagine she wouldn’t have but I keep seeing things about the strike and it’s just got me thinking.

This is useful to know, thanks.
