Multiple therapists, MN - what is it with the need to go over and over same stuff?

I have seen today only a couple of threads where people ask for opinions from MN, because they are unsure about therapists advice or can’t wait until they see their therapist or multiple ones. My work colleague is like this - every conversation rotates around her life and work problems, she will suck up as much time as you are prepared to give her. Speech peppers with buzzwords like “boundaries”.

I fully understand asking a friend or MN for opinion but it seems like some people need incessant hashing out of their often trivial problems. Am I reasonable to find this self-obsessive?

YABU. There could be loads of reasons for repeated talking about problems, including an anxiety disorder, a therapist who’s telling the person things that are hard to hear, problems that look ‘trivial’ to you but aren’t trivial to the person who has them. If you don’t want to read about their problems, or listen to them, just move on.
